MOSQUITOES TEST POSITIVE FOR WEST NILE VIRUS IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
Mosquitoes collected in Antioch and Madison have tested positive for West Nile Virus according to the Nashville Metro Public Health Department. The batches mark the first positive tests this year in Nashville. The mosquitoes were captured near the intersection of Edge O’Lake Drive and Murfreesboro Road in Antioch and near the intersection of Alta Loma Drive and Gallatin Road in Madison. Residents of both neighborhoods will receive information on mosquito protection and education. The Health Department will also apply a larvicide to any areas where mosquito larvae are found. So far, no human cases of West Nile Virus have been reported in Davidson County.
