MOST TENNESSEE COUNTIES POST BELOW 5% UNEMPLOYMENT RATES FOR MAY 2019
Newly released unemployment data from the Tennessee Dept. of Labor and Workforce Development for May 2019 shows rates for nearly every county in the state below five percent for the month. 91 counties had unemployment rates lower than five percent and four counties have a rate of five percent or higher for May. 90 counties experienced a slight uptick in rates, one county remained unchanged, and unemployment dropped in four counties. Cumberland County’s May unemployment rate was 3.7 percent while Roane County posted the exact same rate.
