MOTION HEARING DELAYED FOR CUMBERLAND COUNTY DOUBLE MURDER SUSPECT

Court officials say a motions hearing originally scheduled for today in Cumberland County Criminal Court involving a double murder suspect was postponed.

Authorities say 75-year-old Warren John Nostrom is accused of fatally shooting 58-year-old Joy Nostrom and 54-year-old Mark Gunter in the parking lot of the Cumberland County school bus garage on Genesis Road in September 2018. Warren Nostrom then reportedly tried to shoot himself in the head but survived.

A new motions hearing is set for July 31, 2020 and if pending no further delays, the trial is scheduled to start August 25, 2020.

Motions are not pleadings but are requests for the judge to make a legal ruling on matters pertaining to the case leading up to a possible trial.
