A Rockwood man was killed after he wrecked his motorcycle Monday afternoon along Highway 70 between Crab Orchard and Ozone. 30-year-old James Morris of Rockwood was being pursued by a Cumberland County Deputy on Highway 70 when he failed to negotiate a curve, running off the left side of the highway and slamming into a rocky embankment. Morris was transported to UT Medical Center in Knoxville where he succumbed to his injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident according to the THP report.   The report did not give a reason as to why Morris was being pursued or the name of the County Deputy that was involved.
