MOTORCYCLE GETS STOLEN AFTER SUBJECT TAKES IT FOR A TEST DRIVE

ROCKWOOD, TN-  Cumberland County deputies were dispatched to GreenWave gas station on Wednesday where a victim stated his motorcycle was stolen.

The victim stated he had posted his Black 2004 Suzuki GSX motorcycle for sale on Facebook Marketplace when a man by the name of CJ Ballard responded and came to see the motorcycle at the victim’s residence in Rockwood with two other people.  When CJ asked to test drive it, the victim allowed it and told him that he would follow behind. However, CJ took off once he was near the Greenwave gas station and the victim was unable to keep up or know which direction he ended up traveling.

The other two individuals stated they did not know where he would have traveled to, but they had to get back home to Sweetwater.

After investigating, the deputy determined that the male who took the bike was identified as 34-year-old Charles Ballard, who is wanted out of Virginia for a similar offense.

This case is still under investigation. The value of the motorcycle was listed at $4,500.
