MOTORIST INJURED IN I-40 CRASH IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A motorist was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 in Cumberland County Friday night.

The accident report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol released today states a 2004 Ford F-150 driven by 52-year-old Marcus D. Snipes ran off the road near the 317-mile marker and traveled through the median.

The truck came back onto the interstate and overcorrected. The vehicle hit a guardrail, overturned, slid across the lanes of traffic, and came to rest on its left side.

Snipes was hurt in the crash.

Troopers state Snipes was charged with DUI, violation of the implied consent law, possession of drugs, and failure to maintain his lane of travel.
