Emergency responders successfully hoisted an injured person from the base of Top Falls at Burgess Falls State Park today following a collaborative rescue operation.

The Putnam County Rescue Squad deployed its specialized Rope Rescue Team to the scene, working side-by-side with Tennessee State Parks personnel and the Sparta-White County Volunteer Rescue Squad. Rescuers safely navigated the challenging terrain of the gorge to retrieve the patient and transfer them to a waiting ambulance for urgent medical care.
