BBBTV12 – Interstate 40 East of Kingston about a mile and a half past the main Kingston exit was shut down for a multi-vehicle accident that started around 10:00 p.m. on Friday.

Three persons were taken to the hospital from the accident with non-life-threatening injuries after a crash involving a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles, one pulling another trailer. Most of the wreckage was along the shoulder of the right side of the interstate but some debris in the roadway crossed all Lanes causing the interstate to be shut down for around 30 minutes before one lane was reopened.

We are still awaiting the Tennessee Highway Patrol report on the accident.

Kingston Fire first responders were on the scene as well as Sheriff’s deputies to help control traffic until the THP got there and took over the investigation.
