A multi-vehicle accident has been reported on Interstate 40 Eastbound in Roane County, causing traffic delays this evening.

According to officials, the crash occurred around 6:29 PM (ET) near mile marker 358.8. The incident has blocked the eastbound left lane, as well as the left shoulder.

Currently, only one of the two eastbound lanes remains open to traffic. Drivers traveling through the area should expect delays and are advised to exercise caution or seek alternative routes while emergency crews work to clear the scene.
