A multi-vehicle collision occurred around 4 a.m. today at the 341-mile marker on I-40 eastbound in Roane County.

It resulted in both lanes being closed for around an hour.

Initial reports indicate three vehicles were involved, resulting in serious injuries.

Multiple ambulances and rescue squad units from Roane County were dispatched to the scene.

A full accident report, including the names of those involved, will be released later by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
