MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH ON I-40 NEAR THE SPLIT

A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 Eastbound in Loudon County at mile marker 367.2 was reported by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) at 2:34 PM CDT on July 16, 2025. The incident has caused significant traffic disruptions, with the eastbound left lane (out of two lanes) and the left shoulder blocked, leading to delays in the area.

The crash occurred near the I-75 split, a busy interchange close to Buttermilk Road, and specific details about the number of vehicles involved, the cause of the crash, or the extent of injuries are not fully available yet.

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes, such as State Route 95 or US-321, to avoid delays. The proximity to the I-75 split and Buttermilk Road suggests that traffic backups could have extended to nearby areas like Grubb Creek.
