MURDER SUSPECT MAKES FIRST GENERAL SESSIONS COURT APPEARANCE

Thirty-five-year-old Kirk Douglas Clark of Clarkrange made his first appearance in general sessions court this morning.

Clark, the suspected shooter in Saturday night’s triple shooting at 8610 Cherokee Trail in Lake Tansi, is charged with first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon and altering, falsifying or forging a vehicle registration. He is being held on two million, twenty thousand dollars bond.

Thirty-five-year-old Doneal Marie Clark of Crossville, who was arrested with Clark at the Genesis Travel Plaza early Tuesday morning, is being held on half a million dollars bond for possession of a prohibited weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon. She also appeared in general sessions court this morning.

Few details have emerged surrounding the shooting that left 74-year-old Linda Damewood dead and her two siblings, Andrew Schan and Ellen Cairns, injured. The official arrest report, released today, indicates Damewood was shot in the head as she sat in her recliner.

1057 News spoke this afternoon with Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox, who reported the investigation is still ongoing. When asked whether a motive for the shooting had been established, Cox replied, “It’ll all come out pretty soon, I hope.”
