NAMES RELEASED OF THREE KILLED IN MCMINN COUNTY TRAIN VS CAR ACCIDENT
A vehicle-versus-train accident in McMinn County late yesterday left three dead. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the incident occurred near Calhoun and County Road 22. A train with three engines and 40 cars was traveling north through McMinn when a 2009 Ford Fusion tried to cross the tracks. The train then collided with the car. The section where the car attempted to go over the tracks was a private road at a private crossing. Officers say 45-year-old Wendy M. Humphreys and 46-year-old Johnny M. Ashworth, both of Chattanooga, as well as 17-year-old Jasmine Ashworth of Calhoun, Georgia, were all killed.
