NASHVILLE MAN TO RECEIVE REWARD FOR ROLE IN CAPTURE OF TAD CUMMINS

NASHVILLE, Tenn.–The Nashville man who befriended Tad Cummins in a rural California town and called law enforcement will receive reward money offered in the manhunt for the former teacher.

Griffin Barry, a Nashville native living in California, spotted Cummins and Elizabeth Thomas in Cecilville, California, a mountainous area about 68 miles from the county seat of Yreka. After befriending them, Barry called police on the evening of April 19th.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation coordinated with the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office -which had jurisdiction in Cecilville- and officers found Cummins’ Nissan Rogue. Siskiyou County’s Special Response Team responded the next morning, arresting Cummins and finding Thomas unharmed.

On Friday, Griffin Barry will received the $10,000 in reward money offered for the tips leading to the arrest of Tad Cummins. Barry will be presented the money outside the law office of S. Jason Whatley, the attorney representing the Thomas family.
