NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE: 2020 VERY ACTIVE YEAR FOR TORNADOES SO FAR IN TENNESSEE
The National Weather Service in Nashville released a report yesterday saying this year so far has been a very active year for tornadoes. The report indicates 23 out of the 28 tornadoes this year took place in middle and east Tennessee (that is an average of 7 tornadoes in the state a month). The tornadoes combined in the state left 28 dead, injured hundreds and caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damage. As of today, White County has been hit by 3 different tornadoes this year, Putnam County saw three including the one on March 3, 2020 resulting in 19 fatalities and Cumberland and Morgan County has one each so far this year.
