NEARLY 1,000 COVID-19 VACCINE SHOTS ADMINISTERED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY JAN. 2, 2020

The Cumberland County Health Department administered 981 COVID-19 vaccine shots this past Saturday (January 2, 2021) at the community complex.

Starting tomorrow (Tuesday, January 5, 2021), the Cumberland County Health Department will have an information telephone line available to the public at (931) 707-9007 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. central. This is for citizens in Cumberland County only and not neighboring ones.

The health department is now waiting for more vaccines to be delivered. Once more is received, vaccinations will be offered to individuals in groups 1a1, 1a2, and those individuals age 75 and over. More details will be coming once the vaccine arrives to how it will be distributed.

Definitions of Groups 1a1 and 1a2:

1a1

  • Hospital staff workers that deal with direct patient exposure and potentially infectious material exposure.
  • Home care staff, mass testing site staff
  • Student health providers
  • Long-term care facility staff and residents including nursing facilities, group homes and assisted living centers
  • First responders with direct public exposure
  • Adults who cannot live independently

  • All other health care workers including those who are: primary caregivers, outpatient workers, pharmacists, patient transport workers, urgent visit center workers, environmental services, mortuary services, oral health and behavioral health.
