NEW SOCCER SCOREBOARD PROPOSED FOR CUMBERLAND CO. HIGH SCHOOL

The Board of Education Building and Grounds Committee will hear a proposal tomorrow afternoon (April 6, 2021) from Cumberland County High School.

The Jets and Lady Jets soccer team wants to replace their current field scoreboard with a new one at no cost to the school system. The $12,400 price tag including installation will be covered by a donation from Eye Centers of Tennessee.

The new plans, designs, installation must be submitted to the school maintenance department for review prior to the scoreboard being placed on the property.

Diamond 9, a company in Cookeville, who works primarily with Tennessee Tech Athletics and various other high schools in the Upper Cumberland, will supply the material and labor to assemble the LED scoreboard measuring 16’ by 5’, larger than the previous board.

The scoreboard there now is the original one assembled in the late 1990’s when the field was first created for soccer.

If accepted by the committee tomorrow, it will be placed on the agenda for the full board of education to consider and vote on.
