Crossville City Manager Greg Wood told 1057 News this morning the new splash pad is now open. Wood said yesterday was supposed to be a trial run with city employees to make sure everything was functioning, but it hit Facebook and took on a life of its own. Since citizens already had access, it was better to have staff on site to handle the issues they are still having. However, none of those issues are related to safety. At some time, the city may need to temporarily close the splash pad to address an issue with the pump staying primed. The splash pad hours is 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday located at the corner of 4^th Street and Miller Bypass at Garrison Park. Wood added there will be a grand opening and ribbon cutting to be held soon.
