NEXT UP FOR THE VOLS… THE SWEET SIXTEEN

After a stunning overtime 83-77 victory over Iowa Sunday, the No. 2-seed Vols take the next step in the Big Dance at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, Thursday night. Their opponents will be the Purdue Boilermakers. Purdue, the No. 3 seed, beat reigning national champs Villanova 87-61 in Round Two. Tipoff Thursday night is 7:29 p.m.

This is the second time in five years the U.T. Volunteers have made it as far as the Sweet Sixteen.

The win Sunday also places the team in a tie for the most wins in program history at 31, as well as the most wins by a Rick Barnes-coached team. Texas went 31-7 under Barnes in the 2007-08 season.

The KFC Yum! Center arena seats nearly 21,000 for basketball.
