NFL LEGENDARY LINEBACKER DICK BUTKUS PASSES AWAY
NFL Hall of Famer and legendary Chicago Bears linebacker Dick Butkus passed away yesterday at the age of 80.
Butkus played with the Bears from 1965 to 1973, earning eight Pro Bowls and five first-team All-Pro selections. He was considered one of the greatest defensive players of all time
“The Enforcer” was the third overall pick of the 1965 NFL Draft out of Illinois. At 6-foot-3, 245 pounds, Butkus was feared by opponents.
After Butkus stepped away from football, he became a celebrity endorser, broadcaster, and actor. He appeared in movies including “The Longest Yard” (1974 version), “Gus”, “Gremlins 2: The New Batch”, “Necessary Roughness”, and “Any Given Sunday”.
