NORTH CAROLINA MAN ARRESTED IN CROSSVILLE WITH 36 GRAMS OF MARIJUANA
On Sunday, Deputy Ryan Ashburn responded to Old Hwy 70 to assist Deputy Alderman on a vehicle wreck.
The vehicle had pulled into a driveway and attempted to back up causing the vehicle to go off a small embankment. The driver was
identified as Keyonsay Moore, who said had left the Tennessee Tech Homecoming football game and was traveling West. Deputies could smell an alcoholic odor coming from the vehicle, and Deputy Ashburn asked Moore if he had been drinking that evening. Moore said he advised he last drank at 2 p.m., but he had very slurred speech and heavy eyelids.
Moore was asked to perform field sobriety tests but became argumentative about doing field sobriety tests and initially refused to exit his vehicle. Ashburn opened the door to the vehicle and advised Mr. Moore to step out, and after he did he was placed under arrest.
Deputy Winningham arrived on the scene to assist and Ashburn transported Mr. Moore to intake for booking. Deputy Winningham found narcotics in a zip lock bag wrapped in black electrical tape in Moore’s and brought the narcotics to the Sheriff’s Office.
Inside the bag were two zip-lock bags containing approximately 36.49 grams of marijuana. Moore was charged with Public Intoxication.
