Law enforcement and medics were busy yesterday responding to numerous accidents on secondary and backroads in Cumberland County.

Several accidents happened on Cox Valley Road, Vandever Road, and Chestnut Hill Road. At least 3 happened on the 1800 block of Chestnut Hill Road. Officers responded to others on numerous roads in the county.

Injuries were reported in several crashes, including one sustaining a broken leg from the impact.

As of 8:30 a.m. this morning (Monday, January 22, 2024), the same roadways continue to be icy. Officials do not recommend travel on them.

The temperatures will finally rise above freezing today, setting up melting. Officials encourage motorists to continue to use caution while driving.
