NWS CONFIRMS TORNADO AT PLEASANT HILL ELEMENTARY; COUNSELING OFFERED FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF

The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed last night a EF-0 tornado struck Pleasant Hill Elementary yesterday afternoon with winds of at least 80 mph. All students were accounted for as school dismissed just 30 minutes prior to the tornado striking. Some pupils along with staff were still there at the time. As a result, Cumberland County school will be closed today. The school system will offer counseling today starting at 8 a.m. this morning (Friday, April 9, 2021) at the central office at 368 4th Street in Crossville for students, staff and families affected by the tornado.
