Have a good weather app, such as The Weather Channel, on your phone that can sent warnings direct to you. Be sure to listen to 105.7 The Hog or 98.9 The Wolf for live updates on watches and warnings as they are issued by the National Weather Service. Have a plan in place of where to go in your home in the event a warning is issued (lowest part of the home or in a bathtub with some type of covering (blankets or a matress) over you.

A TORNADO WATCH means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes to form during the next several hours from when it is issued.

A TORNADO WARNING means one has been spotted or is detected on radar in your county. If a tornado warning is issued for your area, move to a place of safety, ideally in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

This is not meant to “scare” but for you to “prepare” for the possibility of severe weather today.
