OCOEE SHOOTING VICTIM IDENTIFIED; SUSPECT ARRESTED
In Ocoee, Tennessee, a fatal shooting occurred just past midnight on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, outside a gas station and restaurant on US-64 near the intersection with US-411. The victim, identified as 52-year-old Mickey Lee Goodman, was found by first responders with at least one gunshot wound and was transported to a hospital in Cleveland, where he succumbed to his injuries.
His body was sent to Knoxville for an autopsy. Following witness interviews and a review of security camera footage, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office identified 34-year-old Jayson Wentworth as the suspect. Wentworth was arrested at his Ocoee home without incident and charged with second-degree murder. He is currently held at the Polk County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting remains ongoing.
