OKLAHOMA MAN CHARGED WITH STEALING $250K ENDOSCOPES FROM BLOUNT HOSPITAL
In May 2025, Troy Bowen, an Oklahoma man, stole high-value endoscopes—flexible tubes equipped with lights and cameras used for procedures like colonoscopies and laparoscopies—from Prisma Health Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee.
He allegedly sold the equipment, valued at more than $250,000, to a medical refurbishment company. Maryville Police arrested Bowen in August, and following an October 31 preliminary hearing, his $250,000 bail remained in place as the case was bound over to a Blount County grand jury on charges of theft of property over $250,000.
