ONE CHILD HURT, ONE EJECTED AFTER VEHICLE ROLLS IN ACCIDENT
A vehicle accident on Pete Worthington Road just east of the Evansville community in Rhea County last night resulted in a child being flown to a trauma center. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the accident took place just before 9 p.m. when the driver, 27-year-old George Lemay III, lost control of a 2006 Ford Explorer on the road and rolled over. A boy in the car was ejected and was found on the side of the road. He and Lemay were flown for treatment of injuries. Another child, a 14-month-old girl, was inside the wreckage properly restrained. She was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment. A trooper reportedly smelled alcohol coming from the adult male driver of the vehicle. Charges are pending in the accident.
