Rockwood police, firefighters and medics responded to a single vehicle accident on South Gateway Avenue yesterday after a vehicle left the road and hit a utility pole. The female driver was taken by ambulance to U.T. Medical Center for treatment after a medical episode caused the driver to crash. Traffic was down to one lane northbound at the scene for about an hour until the wreck was cleared. REU crews later repaired the utility pole.
