A Monterey man was killed and two others were injured in a vehicle accident yesterday on I-40 in Putnam County. The report states a tractor-trailer collided with a Dodge Neon at mile marker 280. The driver of the Dodge, 22-year-old Kirsten McCarty of Baxter, was airlifted to Erlanger Hospital. Her passenger, 22-year-old David Englehardt, of Monterey, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 2-year-old in the car was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the tractor-trailer from Las Vegas was not injured.
