OOLTEWAH STUDENT ARRESTED FOR WRITING A THREAT ON BATHROOM STALL WALL

Ooltewah High School Student Arrested for Making School Threat
Hamilton County, TN – On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Deputy (SRD) assigned to Ooltewah High School was made aware of a shooting threat written on a bathroom stall wall. The threat was written in red marker with a school shooting threat dated for August 19, 2022.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s SRD immediately began investigating the threat. After reviewing camera footage from the hallway and interviewing students, the juvenile suspect confessed to the SRD to writing the threat on the wall. The red marker was also located in the possession of the juvenile suspect.
The juvenile suspect will now be facing two charges for the following:
– TCA 39-16-517 Interference with Government Operations (for the school shooting threat)
– TCA 39-14-408 Vandalism
As this incident pertains to a juvenile, no further details are available.
