OSTIC ARRESTED FOR RECKLESS DRIVING NEAR REPORTED FIRE SCENE IN CROSSVILLE

A Crossville woman is facing a charge after reportedly following too close to a police officer on his way to a fire call. The report states the officer stopped at the corner of Fourth Street and Storie Avenue to see what was going on with the motorist tailing him. That is when the driver, 35-year-old Angel Joy Ostic of Crossville, honked at the officer, passed him and accelerated rapidly away from him towards the emergency scene. Fire units also tried to signal Ostic to stop but she allegedly went past them at the scene. Ostic pulled into a nearby driveway. The report indicates there was an odor of alcohol coming from Ostic. A field sobriety test was administered to her. A decision was made by the officer to arrest Ostic for reckless driving instead of DUI. She was taken to the Cumberland County jail.
