OVER 200,000 KIA TELLURIDE VEHICLES RECALLED FOR FAULTY DOOR BELT MOLDINGS

Kia America has issued a recall for 201,149 Telluride SUVs from the 2023 to 2025 model years due to faulty door belt moldings that may loosen and detach, posing a road hazard and increasing the risk of crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The issue stems from insufficient adhesive application by a supplier, causing the trim pieces along the top edge of the doors to delaminate and potentially fall off during driving. This recall follows a similar issue with 100,063 K5 sedans, bringing the total to over 300,000 affected vehicles.

Kia will notify owners by mail starting September 26, 2025, to bring their vehicles to dealerships for free inspections and replacements of the faulty parts, which will include improved designs with mechanical retention to prevent future detachment.

Owners can check their vehicle’s status on the NHTSA recall website or contact Kia customer service at 800-333-4542, referencing recall number SC347 for the Telluride.
