OVER 330,000 FRIGIDAIRE MINIFRIDGES RECALLED FOR FIRE AND BURN HAZARD

The Frigidaire-brand minifridge, model EFMIS121 (a 6-can unit), is subject to a recall announced on January 15, 2026, affecting approximately 330,000 units with serial numbers ranging from A2001 to A2310. These minifridges, sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and on Target.com from January 2020 through October 2023 for about $30, feature “Frigidaire” printed on the front, with model and serial numbers located on a label on the back.
The hazard stems from internal electrical components that can short circuit, igniting the surrounding plastic housing and posing risks of fire and burns. Curtis International, the importer (with manufacturing by ShangYu North Electron Manufacture Co. Ltd. in China), reports at least six incidents of these model EFMIS121 units catching fire, resulting in property damage. This recall expands on a prior July 2024 recall of 634,000 units covering other models (EFMIS129, EFMIS137, EFMIS149, and EFMIS175).
Consumers should immediately stop using the affected minifridges, unplug them, cut the power cord, mark “Recall” with a permanent marker on the front door, and dispose of them per local regulations. To obtain a full refund, register at www.recallrtr.com/minifridge or contact Curtis International toll-free at 888-727-0198 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. ET) or via email at [email protected]. The recall is designated as number 26-199.
