OVER 4 FOOT LONG RECORD BREAKING FISH CAUGHT IN KNOX COUNTY

A fisherman may have set a state record spanning back 34 years at Melton Hill Reservoir in Knox County.

Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) officials say Stephen Paul caught a 43 pound 14 ounce musekellunge, or commonly known as a musky in the reservoir March 2, 2017. The fish was so big that Paul contacted the TWRA for assistance in finding a scale that could handle weighing the massive fish that measure just over 51 inches long. Officials projected the age of the fish to be between 12 and 15 years old.

Once state wildlife officers in Nashville certify the catch, it will officially break the record previously held by Kyle Edwards when he caught a 42 pound 8 ounce musky in Norris Reservoir in 1983.
