OVER $447 OF GOODS STOLEN FROM LOWE’S
On Tuesday last week, Officer Haylee Osmun responded to Lowe’s for a belated theft. Upon arriving, the officer spoke with a representative for Lowe’s asset protection who said that two days prior at around 12:34 p.m., two men came into the store and grabbed one item of Easy-off degreaser valued at $4.98, a One-flex 24-volt high torque impact wrench kit valued at $329, and LED 2-in cube spotlight valued at $64.79, and a Hopkins flood light LED valued at $48.59.
The overall estimated value totals around $447.36.
The men were seen on video gathering items off the shelves, placing them into a cart, walking to the back of the store, and placing the items in empty Lowe’s shopping bags that they already had. One of the men was seen pulling a receipt out of his pocket and then both subjects walked out of the door, not attempting to pay for the items listed above and passing all points of sale.
The store representative spoke with surrounding locations and was informed that one of the subjects was a man by the name of Michael Cooper as they had issues in the past with him. The officer was able to confirm Michael Cooper’s identity thanks to past booking history in Cumberland County Jail.
The second subject was identified and confirmed to be Dewayne Harkins, both residents of Roane County.
Warrants were placed on both subjects for theft.
