OVER 5,200 AMBULANCE CALLS IN ROANE COUNTY LAST YEAR FROM JANUARY-OCTOBER

The Emergency Operations Committee for Roane County met last night at the Emergency Operations Center which is at the same building the Roane County Jail is housed in. Some astounding figures were given out to those in attendance about the numerous ambulance calls that are answered by the Roane County ambulance service and the number of accidents on I-40 and the particular times and locations of those accidents that the emergency units respond to.

Emergency Operations director Tim Suter showed the committee that in 2022 from January to October that 5,265 ambulance calls were ran in Roane County, with 120 of the calls being overdose related.

In all ambulance and First Responders responding to Interstate incidents was over 320. According to the stats, most of the accidents occurred between noon and 3:00 PM.

Roane County has five ambulances that are operating on a 24/7 basis and at times they are all tied up when calls come in as they also run a convalescent ambulance that runs to and from nursing and hospital facilities.
