OVER 650,000 STEAM CLEANERS RECALLED FOR BOILER RUPTURE HAZARD
The Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner (model DUP020WNA) has been recalled due to a serious safety hazard. The product’s boiler can rupture if overfilled, if corrosion occurs, or if the pressure release valve fails, potentially causing burns or serious injuries to users or bystanders from hot steam or water expulsion. This recall, announced on February 26, 2026, and identified as recall number 26-283, affects approximately 651,145 units sold in the United States and an additional 96,530 in Canada.
The portable steam cleaners, manufactured in China and imported by Dupray USA LLC of Newark, Delaware, were sold nationwide from April 2018 through December 2025 for about $150 each, through dupray.com as well as retailers including Home Depot, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Walmart, Amazon.com, and others. They feature a white base with a black flexible hose and come with various accessories like brushes, tools, a Velcro pad, and dust cloths; affected units have batch/date codes ranging from 0118-01 to 0425-05 on the rating label on the bottom.
The company has received 15 reports of boiler ruptures, resulting in four cases of minor burns, bruises, lacerations, and one broken wrist, along with at least seven incidents of minor property damage. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled steam cleaner and visit www.dupray.com/recall (or go to www.dupray.com and click the “Neat™ Steam Cleaner Recall” banner) for instructions on obtaining a free replacement safety boiler cap.
Eligibility requires providing the batch code from the bottom of the unit; the new cap has a simple screw-on design for easy installation. For assistance, contact Dupray USA toll-free at 800-881-8482 (Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET) or via email at [email protected].
