As of 7:40 a.m. this morning (Friday, January 22, 2021) around 780 VEC customers in the Peavine Road area in between I-40 and Fairfield Glade in Cumberland County are presently without power. A call from that area to 911 reported sparks coming from the top of a power pole. VEC is working to repair with a restoration time of 9:30 a.m. central however dense fog is slowing the process. It also has the traffic lights at Peavine and the interstate not working. Treat non-working traffic lights as 4 way stops.
