A tractor-trailer accident Friday afternoon on I-40 in Cumberland County blocked both westbound lanes for a few hours. Trooper Jack Alderman told 105.7 News a 2013 Freightliner operated by 32-year-old Devin Fields of Somerville, Tennessee was traveling at the 331 mile marker when he lost control and overturned in a curve. Fields, who was not hurt and restrained at the time, was cited for failure to maintain his lane of travel. Traffic was backed up to the Westel exit (7 miles) at one point causing motorists to take Westel Road to Highway 70 to Crab Orchard as a detour.
