OVERTURNED TRUCK SHUTS DOWN HIGHWAY 95 IN LOUDON COUNTY
On January 6, 2026, an overturned truck hauling rocks caused a complete shutdown of State Route 95 (also known as Highway 95) in Loudon County, Tennessee, near the intersection with Unitia Road (sometimes spelled Unita Road).
The single-vehicle incident was reported around 10:36 AM Central Time, resulting in both northbound and southbound lanes being closed between Highway 321 South and Big Hill Road while cleanup operations were underway. Rocks spilled across the roadway from the overturned truck, complicating efforts to clear the scene.
Fortunately, the driver sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the site. Multiple agencies responded, including the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office, Greenback Fire Department, Priority Ambulance Service, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Tennessee Department of Transportation, working together to manage the situation and restore traffic flow.
Drivers in the area are advised to seek alternate routes during the closure.
