PARENTS ARRAIGNED IN CASE OF 2-YEAR-OLD FOUND DEAD IN VEHICLE
The parents of a 2-year-old boy who was left in a vehicle and found dead outside of a Gatlinburg home were arraigned in Sevier County court this morning (Monday, July 31, 2017). Anthony Phillips and Jade Phillips were indicted on first degree murder committed through aggravated child neglect, first degree murder committed through aggravated child abuse, aggravated child neglect and aggravated child abuse against their 2-year-old son, Kipp. According to the Gatlinburg Police Department, the 2-year-old child was left in a vehicle overnight July 13 on Laurel Avenue and found dead on July 14. The case remains under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Gatlinburg Police Department. The two are expected to appear in court again November 1, 2017.
