The Rockwood City Council met in a Special Called session Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. to pass their annual budget on 2nd and final reading.

The budget included a 2% increase for city workers as well as a Christmas bonus.

The tax rate in the city will remain the same at $1.05 per $100 of assessed value.

The council also agreed to enter into a contract with Waste Connections for garbage collection services for the next several years.  There will be a $3 increase in the collection fee that will be charged to residents who take the service beginning in the June billing cycle.  It is possible to opt out of the collection, but you need to contact the city for more information.
