PEDDE SURRENDERS AFTER RUNNING FROM AUTHORITIES IN CUMBERLAND CO.

A traffic stop last night in Cumberland County turned into a multi-agency hunt for the suspect.

Troopers pulled over 42-year-old Ruben Pedde for speeding on I-40. When Pedde stopped, he allegedly abandoned his vehicle and started running, causing a foot pursuit. Troopers, along with deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department and Crossville police, focused their search around the 1300 block of Chestnut Hill Road.

When Pedde abandoned his vehicle on the interstate, he reportedly left behind his 9 year old son in the back seat of the car, setting on the side of the interstate. One of the troopers took the child and returned him back in the custody of his mother in Crossville.

A search continued for Pedde for a couple hours last night.

Pedde voluntarily turned himself in today. He was charged with child neglect, resisting arrest, evading arrest and driving on a revoked or suspended license.
