PEDESTRIAN HIT BY VEHICLE IN LAKE TANSI

Law enforcement and medics in Cumberland County were called to the 1,000 block of Apoxsee Circle in Lake Tansi Tuesday after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. They arrived to see a female tending to Lucas Phagan who sustained injuries and was bleeding from his nose.

The motorist fled the scene after striking Phagan.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment.

Two witnesses notified law enforcement they observed a silver Chrysler 300 operated by 21-year-old Jedidiah Josiah Hoskins, listed as homeless, depart from the scene following the impact. They followed Hoskins while on the phone with authorities to report his position. Officers intercepted Hoskins and pulled him over on Lantana Road at Halsted Drive.

He told officers he was unfamiliar with that area and was trying to pick up a female involved in an altercation. He realized he passed the address he was supposed to arrive at and observed a vehicle pull out of the driveway and came at him in an aggressive manner. Hoskins stated he sped away, and that is when Phagan was hit.

He was apprehended for felony aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident with injury and failure to report an accident.
