Penny Marie Stokes is scheduled for a court deadline hearing in the Cumberland County Circuit Court on August 11, 2026, stemming from a July 2025 search warrant execution that uncovered multiple firearms, illicit drugs, and stolen property.
According to court documents filed by Deputy Morgan Alvarez of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, authorities executed a search warrant on July 22, 2025, at a residence on Burgess Drive shared by Stokes and Mitchell Oakes.
During the search, law enforcement recovered:

-
Controlled substances, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana products, alongside drug paraphernalia.
-
Stolen property, specifically a 2015 Ford Explorer valued at approximately $10,000.
Investigators stated that both Stokes and Oakes are convicted felons, and three of the recovered firearms were located directly beside the bed within easy access of Stokes.
Stokes faces several felony charges filed in April 2026, including:
-
Theft of property ($10,000 to $60,000)

Court records show Stokes is represented by attorney Margaret Jane Powers. She was previously released on a $52,500 surety bond through Big Jim’s Bonding Company and is set to appear for her upcoming deadline hearing.
