PLEA DEAL OFFERED TO CHRIS ALLEN OF ROANE COUNTY CHARGED WITH SEX CRIMES

Court officials say a Roane County man charged with sex crimes has been offered a plea deal.

The nine-count indictment from a grand jury states that 33-year-old Christopher “Chris” Edward Allen of Kingston is charged with the transfer of obscene materials, production of child pornography, two counts of transportation of child pornography, two counts of attempted production of child pornography, and three counts of enticement.

Allen was arrested in a law enforcement sting operation in Kingston in April 2022 while attempting to meet a 13-year-old for sex.

The trial for Allen was set to get underway on January 23, 2024, in federal court in Knoxville.

A motion was filed requesting the trial date be delayed because of a formal plea deal offered.

The judge set a new trial date for Allen on April 23, 2024, should he not accept the plea deal.

The terms of the plea deal have not been released.

Allen has entered a plea of not guilty in the case.
