POLICE: COMBATIVE PATIENT ARRESTED IN CUMBERLAND MEDICAL CENTER

Crossville police responded Monday to One Bank on West Avenue to medics dealing with a combative patient. Officers encountered 43-year-old Kevin James Woody of Crossville and calmed him down to transport him to Cumberland Medical Center.
Once at the hospital, medics advised police they had to use Narcan on Woody twice.
Woody became combative with medics and law enforcement in the emergency room.
One officer drew his taser and told Woody repeatedly to stand down after Woody reportedly aggressively came at him.
Woody was later discharged from the hospital.
When law enforcement attempted to place Woody under arrest for disorderly conduct and public intoxication, he reportedly began to fight and pull away. One officer drew his taser, and Woody fell to the floor.
Police placed handcuffs on Woody and took him to jail.
He was additionally charged with public intoxication.
