A Rockwood man was taken into custody early this morning on felony charges. Police say a female from Crossville went to Walmart in Rockwood to meet 31-year-old Jarad Paul Fisher. The two knew each other and when she arrived, Fisher allegedly pulled her into a vehicle and repeatedly choked and hit her and threatened to kill her. Fisher then told the victim to drive and they later stopped at a church parking lot where Fisher allegedly struck the victim several times causing serious injuries. Police charged Fisher with especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault. As of this afternoon, Fisher is being held in the Roane County jail without bond.
