POLICE: MAN STABBED IN CHAPEL OF BREAD OF LIFE IN CROSSVILLE

Crossville police responded yesterday afternoon to the emergency room of Cumberland Medical Center for a stabbing.

Officers spoke to the victim, 54-year-old Jesse Clark, being treated for a stab wound to the back of his head.

Clark told police he was in the chapel at the Bread of Life on 4th Street when a short, stocky male entered the chapel.

The suspect, between the ages of 30 to 35, was wearing a black coat and a cowboy hat.

Clark told the man he was not allowed at that time in the chapel.

The stabbing reportedly took place when Clark turned to walk away and the suspect came towards him.

The assailant fled the scene.

The incident is under investigation.
