POLICE PURSUIT ENDS IN CROSSVILLE WALMART PARKING LOT

On Saturday, dispatch advised city officers to be on the lookout for a 90’s model blue Mustang traveling from Fentress County at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle, Joshua Roberts had been involved in a domestic where Fentress County was obtaining warrants for his arrest.

Around 7:20 PM an officer noticed the blue mustang traveling southbound on HWY 127 North. After activating their blue lights and sirens, the vehicle failed to stop and continued southbound traveling 63 mph in a 45-mph zone. The driver could not properly maintain his lane while passing vehicles in each lane of travel. When reaching the intersection of Interstate Drive and Main Street, the driver disregarded that the light was red, and turned left onto Matherly Street. While driving down Matherly, the driver stopped his vehicle in the middle of the street, the took off spinning his tires. He then turned into Walmart parking lot where he was traveling down the wrong sides of the isle, facing cars head-on.

City cops were able to box the vehicle in, and the driver began to rev his motor. According to the police report, the officer pulled a weapon and demanded Joshua Roberts to get out of the vehicle. The 26-year-old was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest and Reckless Endangerment. He was also cited for Speeding, running a red light, Failure to Maintain Lane, Due care on Main Street and Due care in the Walmart Parking lot. He also has a hold for Fentress County.
